While at Cornell University earning their PhD, physicists Heidi Zimmerman, Chris Toole, and Cameron Vaughn publish their ground-breaking theory, STANDSTILL-a process by which objects in a particle accelerator can be moved vast distances instantaneously-to less than rousing reviews. Two years later, Heidi and Chris are hired by a private lab to work on STANDSTILL as part of cutting-edge technology to repair satellites remotely from earth. After three years of tireless work and on the verge of success, the two watch anxiously as ominous visits from military personnel become more frequent. While searching for clues at the lab, they unwittingly uncover a hack in their systems, triggering alarms on two continents and thrusting them into the middle of a secret international conspiracy. Now on the run for their lives from agents of unknown organizations, they reach out to Cameron to help figure out what terrible purpose the shadowy group might have. Can they figure it out in time? Even if they do, will anyone believe them before it is too late?
